We require our animals to go through a minimum of 1 week quarantine to allow us to watch the animals for any health concerns or personality quirks. Any red flags and the quarantine is extended.

As of 3/19/26 - Any female over the age of 2 weeks who comes into the rescue from a home with males of the same species must go through a full gestation (pregnancy) watch.

Female Guinea Pigs Available for Adoption

These guinea pigs were once living as one big herd but we can not expect anyone to adopt a group of 6. They are available for adoption into homes that have other females or with another member of their herd. We are still working out if any of these guinea pigs are actually bonded to one another- but so far it does not appear that any of them have a real bond.

History: Lucy came to us from a home where the number of guinea pigs became unmanageable for the owner. We assisted the owner in getting back to a number of same sex guinea pigs they could manage. Lucy is one of the females we had to put on pregnancy watch.
Handle-ability: Average - resists initial pick up but calms down
Lucy is not recommended for a first time guinea pig owner due to her long coat. Long coat guinea pigs need extra maintenance and may not always cooperate with the maintenance.
